More About Loren...

Loren Alonzo started playing the piano at a very young age.  Throughout her childhood, she was an active member in her church, high school, and college choir as an accompanist and vocalist.  In her senior year of high school, she organized her first solo recital and eventually received a music scholarship award  to Cal-State East Bay University in 2004.  Later, she transferred to San Jose State University and received her degree in Piano Performance.  While at San Jose State, Loren studied piano, accompaniment, chamber music, and chorales with Gwendolyn Mok, Namik Sultanov, Sharon Brook, and Julie Yu.

After graduating from college, Loren joined an international all-female pop/alternative/r&b band called "The Like Me's" in 2010.  They toured all over Southeast Asia, Canada, and the U.S. where they targeted both global and domestic audiences.  Their mission was to empower and heal through the art of music.  It was then, that Loren was exposed to another realm of musical and artistic performances where she played in front of thousands of fans.  In addition, she discovered another way of communicating her passion by song writing.

Loren is currently an active performer throughout the Bay Area collaborating with other musicians and has been teaching for over ten years.  Her style is very versatile as she stays in tune with today's music.  Furthermore, Loren enjoys motivating and encouraging aspiring artists while making music fun.

Rachmaninov's Etude Tableau Opus 33, no. 4 in D minor

Rachmaninov wrote two sets of etudes that were intended to be picture pieces and did not disclose the artist to be limited to his or her own imagination.  Written in 1911, this etude was posthumously published with a march - like tempo and beautiful inner melodies.  Therefore, it is required to have strong rhythmic control and tonal balance.
